One of the most requested features we've had in recent months is the ability for our users to assign a preset value on specific fields and hide these fields completely.
But don't take our word for it!
Today, we're happy to announce that after much coding by our dev heroes 🤓 the Preset Values feature is now live 😍 !
How can preset values help you?
Some ideal use cases are:
- Automatically assign a reviewer each time a client reports an issue
- Add a specific label to all of your incoming feedback
- Set default values on specific fields when your internal testers report feedback
Let's take a look at our latest YouTube video to see how this works 👇
Before we had preset values
Mistakes happen! If you integrate with Jira or ClickUp, for example, your reporter may accidentally assign feedback to the wrong person or set priorities incorrectly, which will irritate your developers.
Preset Values to the rescue! 🥳
In the below case, the assignee and the priority fields have both been preset and hidden. No more hassles for the reporters! Now the reporter can focus on the feedback.
In the below example, we use a guest form on a Jira integration and presetting the Assignee field (to Mark) and the Priority field (to Medium). We are also hiding these fields from our reporters. The correct person will get a notification within their Jira account each time the client creates a feedback issue, thanks to the hidden fields.
Pre-assign values and allow them to be changed.
Sometimes you may wish to set some default values for your fields but allow your internal team members an opportunity to change them if they see fit. We've got you covered.
Above, we use the more advanced member form, integrating with ClickUp, presetting the assignee to 'Mark,' and the Priority to 'Urgent.' This time, we are not hiding the fields allowing the advanced reporter to edit if wish.
Your fields depend on your integration.
One of the best features about Marker.io is that we integrate so cleanly with many project management and developer tools. Therefore the fields you can assign preset values to depend on the integration you are using.
For example, if you use Marker.io with Jira and add a new Jira user, you will be able to use that person as a pre-filled assignee.
Feel free to play around with preset values and let us know how it works out for you. We are excited to hear about your use cases!
